Epithelial cells in sputum. Does this mean I have lung cancer? Going Thursday for cat scan of chest. Scared

no it definately does not mean you have cancer. epithelial cells are normal and found all throughout your body, especially your mouth. the sputum you gave was probably not the most optimum sample and that’s why it had so many epithelial cells in it.

if you had some sort of malignant mesothelial cells or something, then i would worry.
